When you were new

Partners, friends and colleagues – do you remember your first day at a new job?  What do you remember, what was it like?  Was it an amazing experience or was it dreadful and uninspiring?

I remember at one of my orientation days, the presenters were all saying “we are so exited you are here” in a MONOTONE voice and NOT making eye contact.  Some presenters were late or did not appear to know the day’s agenda as one person didn’t show up at all!  It was a long day and very boring, and of course not energizing in any way.

So, what do you suggest we can do to create an amazing a grand “welcoming experience” for a new hire?  Their very first experience on their first day with Phillips?

For Pete's Sake, Make a Difference!

Do you know someone who has cancer?  Is it your neighbor?  Is it a friend?  Is it a family member?

We have all been impacted in some way, by some person, who has battled this disease.  For me, I learned of the devastating affects of cancer at the young age of 29, when my first husband passed away from a form of testicular cancer.  His death was the catalyst for an organization that has now helped thousands of people take a break from cancer - to live, love and laugh.

For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation enables cancer patients and their loved ones the opportunity to strengthen, deepen and unify their relationships by creating unforgettable and lasting respite vacations.  We have teamed up with Phillips Corporation to help bring this life-altering opportunity to geographic regions throughout the country!

With the help of Phillips partners, we are reaching out to cancer patients and their loved ones in areas we would have otherwise been unable to serve due to limited resources.   We are privileged to work beside our Phillips partners to make life just a little bit better for families in each of your regions.  To witness firsthand the impact of a respite vacation, and to see the smiles of the people we have helped, please check out this video...and feel free to share!
